Biography:

Dolores Ann Bagby, 80, of Huntsville went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Brook Cherith Assisted Living Center in Huntsville, MO. Dolores was born August 10, 1938 in Moberly, MO the daughter of Clelmer and Corinne (Broaddus) Haynes. She married John D. Bagby on April 4, 1964 in Independence, MO.

Dolores was a graduate of Huntsville High School, Class of 1956. She was involved in many school activities including marching band, girl’s softball and basketball, choir and triple trio. She briefly attended Northeast Missouri State Teacher’s College before transferring to Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique from which she received her diploma in October 1958. She worked as a medical technologist for several years and maintained her certification with the American Medical Technologists organization. She also worked as a tax-preparer for H&R Block.

Shortly after her daughter was born, Dolores and her family moved to California, then spent two years in Oregon, then lived several years in Washington state before returning to St. Louis prior to her husband’s retirement. The couple retired in Huntsville, MO in 1987 and rehabbed several area homes before building their dream home.

Dolores was a member of the Huntsville First Baptist Church and active in church activities including Team Kids. She enjoyed going on road-trips and cruises with her husband and close friends – but her favorite thing was shopping for the trips! Dolores loved being a wife, homemaker, mom and aunt. She had a beautiful alto voice and loved to sing and play the piano. She was a skilled furniture refinisher and home decorator and created many unique accent pieces for her homes. Dolores also spent many hours working the farm with her husband and shared her deep love for animals by rescuing stray cats who quickly became part of the family.

Dolores is survived by her husband John of the home, daughter Holly Bagby of St. Louis, MO, sister Jeanine Wright of Moberly, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
