Visitation Information: Visitation will be held one hour prior to service times.
Service Information: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Burial will take place at Hebron Cemetery.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Biography:

Vencil Elmo Terry, 91, of Macon, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia. 

Elmo was born October 22, 1925 in Versailles, MO, a son of Leslie A. and Leona M. (Sousley) Terry.  On February 9, 1946 in Kansas City, KS, he married Dortha M. Welch who survives of the home. 

He served in the US Navy, was a member of the Eldad Church near Clifton Hill, Callao American Legion Post 360 and the NRA.  He really enjoyed fishing, hunting working puzzle books and watching the St. Louis Cardinal’s.  Elmo was a pastor for over 60 years and had pastored at many churches all over the state of Missouri. 

In addition to his wife of 70 years survivors include, one daughter, Sherry Terry of Macon, MO; one son, Lanny Terry and his wife Dorsa of Siloam Springs, AR; two brothers, LW Terry and his wife Virginia of Clifton Hill, MO, Jackie Lee Terry and his wife Jo Ann of Excelsior Springs, MO; one sister, Lillian Patton of Grain Valley, MO; two grandchildren, Sara Lucas and Season Stonecipher; four great-grandchildren, Desmond Lucas, Conner Lucas, Madisyn Walls and Ty Walls; a special nephew, Bobby Mackie Terry and his wife Saundra of Columbia, MO.

Elmo was preceded in death by both of his parents, a daughter, Paula Sue Terry at infancy, five brothers, Otis Kendrick, Charles Terry, Paul Terry Floyd Terry and Bobby Terry; one sister, Ann Teter and two brother-in-laws, Stenton Patton and Jack Teter.
