Visitation Information: Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville, MO.
Service Information: Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Darksville Cemetery.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Darksville Cemetery Association.

Biography:

Joyce Marie Harlan, 82, of Moberly, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018.

She was born July 17, 1935 in Wichita, KS, a daughter of Denver and Hazel (Wood) Flowers.  On November 20, 1955 in Bevier, MO, she married James Marvin Harlan who preceded her in death on September 24, 2001.

Joyce was a member of the Huntsville First Baptist Church.  She had worked at Green’s Quarries and Tedford’s flower shop.  Joyce was a member of the Randolph County and Huntsville Historical Societies, Minute Women in Huntsville, Business Professional Women in Moberly, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), DAC (Daughters of the American Colonists), and was a 4-H leader for many years.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, genealogy, reading and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by two sons, Dale H. Harlan (Carla) of Foristell, MO, Darrell L. Harlan of Moberly, MO; two daughters, Susan L. Schnetzler (Bill Fitzgerald) of Salisbury, MO, Lori M. Harlan of Moberly, MO; three brothers, William Flowers (Mona), David Flowers (Theresa), Clifford Wayne Flowers (Pat); three sisters, Luella Brown (Eddie), Bonnie Boyle, Fernette Flowers; nine grandchildren, Jason, Dustin, Darcy, Ethan, Christy, Amber, John, Joyce, James; 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Marla Joy Harlan; two grandchildren, Dawn Schnetzler and Stanley Harlan; one son-in-law, John Randall Schnetzler.
